I see that on the website there’s an extension for Alfred. However, I don’t think it’s very helpful. I wonder if it can be modified to append the text to a custom web search?

Everyday I have to browser an online database at work. What I do is that I copy a UUID, then paste it in Alfred, next to the abbreviation of a custom search.
What I’d like to do is instead is select some text, then click a PopClip extension to launch that search right away.
Does that make sense?
Explain like I am a labrador. Concrete example with exact steps, keystrokes etc., – what would you do manually.
