Conflict with DeepL

I have the following problem with DeepL:

Whenever I copy text to the clipboard using Cmd-C, the DeepL menu appears, which should only appear after using the standard keyboard shortcut Cmd-CC. The menu also pops up with some mouse actions.

DeepL Support asks if I am using a clipboard-oriented tool. The only tool I can think of is PopClip. I am using DeepL plug-in.

In some cases PopClip will send the ⌘C shortcut to an app as part of its process of getting the selected text. Your manual ⌘C following this will then look like a CC to DeepL if it is quick enough.

Workarounds:

  • You can disable PopClip (either by turning “off” or excluding just problematic apps) and only activate it with its keyboard shortcut
  • Or set a different keyboard shortcut to activate DeepL
