Feature request: Show PopClip only when selecting text while holding Option

Hi @nick ,

I wanted to ask if PopClip could support a modifier key requirement for activation. Specifically, I would love an option where PopClip only appears when I am selecting text while holding the ⌥ key.

I know PopClip already supports a keyboard shortcut to trigger it, but that flow is a bit awkward since it usually means moving my hand off the trackpad to hit the shortcut. What I am hoping for is a more seamless gesture, select text while holding ⌥, then PopClip appears. Otherwise, it stays hidden.

Is something like this possible today, or could it be added as a preference?

I was thinking of “double tap modifier” as an option shortcut to make it appear. So rather than holding down a modifier while selecting you’d do the normal selection then just double tap the modifier e.g. double tap command. How does that sound?

Currently, I believe double tap command is default assigned to the Siri text box but that can be deassigned in system settings.
