Issue with Apple Music & Convert Currency extensions on Golden Gate

Hi everyone!

I’m a relatively new PopClip user—just hit my one-month mark! I was a bit skeptical at first, but it’s quickly become a massive boost to my daily workflow.

I updated to Golden Gate about a week ago. Since then, all my extensions have been running perfectly, except for two: Apple Music and Convert Currency. I held off posting to see if anyone else would report a similar issue, but since I haven’t seen anything yet, I’m starting to wonder if it’s just a local issue on my end. It’s a bit confusing since everything else (e.g, Alfred, Google Maps, YouTube, etc.) works flawlessly.

More details on the issue:
For the Apple Music extension, when triggered, the Apple Music app does open, but no text will be entered in the search field, just blank.
For the Convert Currency extension, when triggered, instead of showing the currency amount on the tooltip, a cross symbol is shown. I tried to see if the information found on the Debug Console would be useful and they are as follows:
09:59:45.6 [Convert Currency] performing action with input text of length 7
09:59:45.6 [Convert Currency] error: TypeError: null is not an object (evaluating ‘currency.symbol.trim’) (parser.ts:168:35) (no value)

Are there any further logs or specific details I can send over to help you look into this?
Sincere thanks!

Hi, thanks for reporting these.

I checked Apple Music on my Golden Gate, and it’s also not working. It seems that the music:// URL the extension was using for search no longer works. So there’s no quick or easy fix for that one.

Regarding the Convert Currency – I am getting the same error too. But not just on macOS 27, on macOS 26 too. That one is created by a member of this forum @bobacks – maybe he can have a look:folded_hands:!

Dear @nick and @bobacks , thanks so much for your prompt response and assistance.
I can confirm that the Convert Currency extension is now working perfectly as before!
While for the Apple Music extension, since it’s not as important as other extensions to my workflow, I can just let it be.
Thanks again for the help!
