PopClip does not appear automatically in IELTS Bro Mac app

Hi Nick,

PopClip does not appear automatically when I select text with the mouse in the IELTS Bro (雅思哥机考软件) Mac app.

However, if I press the PopClip keyboard shortcut while the text remains selected, PopClip appears correctly and receives the correct selected text.

The IELTS Bro app displays its own “查词” lookup popup after text selection. This may be interfering with PopClip’s automatic appearance.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open a listening transcript in the IELTS Bro Mac app.
  2. Select an English word with the mouse.
  3. The app’s own “查词” popup appears, but PopClip does not.
  4. Press the PopClip keyboard shortcut.
  5. PopClip appears correctly with the correct selected word.

PopClip appears automatically in other Mac apps.

Could you please check whether PopClip can appear automatically in this app?

Thank you for reporting this. I can confirm that there are some apps where PopClip is unable to automatically appear and must be activated with the keyboard shortcut. In such cases, I need to investigate that app individually to see if there is something I can do to make it compatible. Sometimes there is, and other times it remains incompatible. I have noted this app for investigation, and I will let you know when I find out a conclusion.
