PopClip keeps crashing

For a few days now PopClip keeps crashing on me. I had to work on a PowerPoint presentation the past few days, with tons of copy and paste from various sources - but mainly another presentation - to a new one. I cannot, however, really see a correlation between this, means I just randomly notice that PopClip is no longer running.

Hi Frank! Oh dear, sorry for the crash. Can you confirm what version of PopClip you are using?
Also take a look in the Console app. On the left-hand sidebar, you should see Crash Reports. Under that, is there anything for PopClip?

Thanks for looking into this. The version I’m using is 2025.9.2 (5155; 27. Oct 2025).
I don’t see anything in the Console app under Crash Reports that looks like PopClip. What I did notice over the past few days is that (multiple times a day) it’s no longer running. I even had the debug console window open and instantly noticed when that just disappeared.

Thanks. That’s really interesting. Without a crash report, it’s hard for me to dig further. It would seem that it’s not actually crashing then but rather quitting, or being quit by an external process.

I’m not able to reproduce this random quitting it myself, and I haven’t had any other similar reports. Can I just ask that you continue to pay attention and see if you can notice any particular circumstance that causes PopClip to quit?

One thing to note is that the keyboard shortcut Command Q will cause PopClip to quit if you’re in the prefs window and indeed the debug console. Is it possible that you have pressed this key combo to cause the quit?

During the first few cases of noticing PopClip was no longer running I definitely did not have the preferences or the debug console open. But let me continue monitoring this. I will keep the debug console open, this should allow me to instantly notice when it quits and I will hopefully be able to correlate it to some other action.
