Reinstall standalone version; defaults write doens't work

Hi: I was using the Setapp version and decided to leave that ecosystem, but can’t live without popclip, so purchased the standalone version and is running 2025.09.02

I remembered running into the slow action scenario, and sure enough upon reinstalling the new version, it reared its head again. So again I ran "defaults write com.pilotmoon.popclip NoLoginShell -bool YES"

The Google Search (hourglass) action got better, but actions like Google Translate, Wikipedia search, etc. are still slow.

I’ve ran that defaults write multiple times, as well as quited and restarted PopClip. Still seeing the same issue. Any hints as to what I can do? Thanks.

Hi there, that particular defaults key shouldn’t affect the speed of operation. (It should only affect compatibility with certain shell configurations.)

When you say it is slow, which exact part of the process is slow?
