SearchNreplacePRO

I have an extension called “SearchNreplacePRO” on an old (Intel) iMac (that can not be upgraded from running) macOS Monterey 12.7.6 and I’d like to install it on a new M4 Mac mini running Sequoia 15.3.

Unfortunately I don’t see it listed on the extensions page, PopClip Extensions Directory. Moreover, I also don’t see it on the iMac at ~/Library/Application Support/PopClip/Extensions

Where can I find it? (Has it been discontinued or refactored into another extension?)

Thank you.

It’s not one of the extensions that has ever been in the extensions directory. However, a Google Search finds this: Snippet for Generic Search & Replace - #5 by nick

Thank you for going to the trouble of searching for it; embarrassingly, my comments are on that thread. :flushed:

After adding it, I now see it in ~/Library/Application Support/PopClip/Extensions named as autoname.search-nreplace-pro.iY0AmjFF.popclipext on macOS 15, whereas on macOS 12, it was named autoname.search-nreplace-pro.popclipext

Obviously, I was not looking carefully enough at the names of the extensions installed on my iMac.

Have you documented your naming convention somewhere? (I don’t see it in the Developer Reference, for example, though perhaps I overlooked it.)

Regardless, thank you for your prompt reply.

The naming convention is not documented, nor anything about where the snippets are saved. However I think this would be a good additon to the docs.

The naming convention has changed a little between popclip versions (for example adding the hash string to diasmbiguate between shippets that might clash).
