How to turn an extension snippet into an openable extension [.popcliptxt files]

I have quite a few extension snippets. To keep track of them I save them as files in a snippet directory.

I would like to give these files an extension so that I can just double-click them and then they install into PopClip.

Is this possible? And if so how?

You can just select the text and PopClip will popup “install” and just install them. No need to maintain files.

read this: Introducing Extension Snippets

PopClip installs them ~/Library/Application Support/com.apple.sharedfilelist/com.apple.LSSharedFileList.ProjectsItems. You shouldn’t be messing with files here.

Yes, it’s possible! Just name the snippet file with the extension .popcliptxt

Is yours really installing them there? I was expecting ~/Library/Application Support/PopClip/Extensions

This is perfect. (The snippet file even does not get auto-deleted! Wonderful!)
